Our Work in Croatia

In Croatia, JRS assists with the needs of refugees and other displaced people who have been forced to flee from their countries due to war or persecution. Since 2010, JRS Croatia has been particularly dedicated to the needs of people coming from African or Asian countries searching for security and protection.

JRS Croatia provides a variety of services to migrants and asylum seekers. These services include educational, legal, and psychosocial support to forced migrants in the Ježevo detention center. JRS Croatia, with support from UNICEF, also runs a Child Friendly Space in the reception center for asylum seekers in Zagreb. In Child Friendly Space JRS provides different activities and workshops (language courses, painting workshops, handicrafts) and help children enjoy a reliable environment in which they feel safe and secure.
