Jesuit Refugee Service’s 38th Anniversary

Please join us for this two-part evening in New York City to celebrate our 38th anniversary and the founding of Jesuit Refugee Service.

The first part of the evening will be a panel featuring experts who continue Arrupe’s legacy and learn about current concerns in refugee and asylum seeker protection and how Jesuit institutions are responding. The panel, Arrupe’s Call to Action: Ignatian Response to Global Displacement and Refugee Protection, will be held on Wednesday November 14th, 2018, 5:30 pm at America Media, 1212 6th Avenue, and feature:

  • Fr. James Martin, SJ, author and Editor-At-Large at America (moderator)
  • Fr. Michael Gallagher, SJ, Representative to the Offices of the UN & other International Organizations in Geneva, Jesuit Refugee Service
  • Emerson Argueta, Justice Fellow, Immigrant Justice Corps; Fordham University School of Law alumnus
  • Dr. Elizabeth Ferris, Research Professor, Institute for the Study of International Migration, Georgetown University
