The current situation at the U.S.-Mexico border is concerning. Restrictive U.S. asylum policies continue to exacerbate protection challenges in Mexico as individuals and families await the opportunity to apply for asylum in the U.S.
On September 27, 2023, JRS/USA and JRS Mexico staff discussed findings from the recent report, “Accompaniment at the U.S.-Mexico Border: Conditions Report & Policy Recommendations.” Speakers also discussed policy recommendations to improve the current situation at the U.S.-Mexico border.
