Marianna Pierce is the Director of Policy, Compliance, and Labor Relations at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Originally from Maine she now resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
A graduate of Harvard University for both college and law school, her career has focused on higher education and other nonprofit organizations, and in particular on employee issues, nonprofit governance, and tax. Ms. Pierce served as the chief education counsel for Senator Edward M. Kennedy on the U.S. Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources.
Before that, Ms. Pierce was the general counsel for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and prior to that, she was a university attorney in Harvard University’s Office of the General Counsel. She has also worked at two Boston law firms and served on a number of boards, including The Jesuit Collaborative.
