Join us as we introduce you to the incredible JRS women leaders from around the globe. Each of the women invited represents different JRS Programs and Initiatives. They will each provide a brief overview of their work and then take questions from donors.
Speakers:
Heba Al Basha
Country Director, JRS Lebanon
Beirut, Lebanon
Heba Al Basha is the Country Director for Lebanon, with eight years of experience working alongside the JRS team. As a Country Director, she is responsible for the direction of JRS at the country level within Lebanon. She has a master’s degree in Management. On a personal level, she prioritizes spending her time with family and in her free time, she likes to go hiking, solving Sudoku, and cooking/baking.
Claudine Nana
Reconciliation Coordinator, Burundi
Bujambura, Burundi
Nana is a researcher and practitioner in the fields of peace-building and reconciliation within a humanitarian setting. She is currently based in Bujumbura (Burundi), working as the Reconciliation and Social Cohesion Coordinator for Burundi and Tanzania in JRS East Africa. With a background in conflict management (master’s degree) and political science (bachelor’s degree), Nana has evolved her career in the humanitarian context.
Joan Rosenhauer – Moderator
Executive Director, JRS USA
Washington DC
Joan is the Executive Director of Jesuit Refugee Service/USA. In this role, Joan leads the organization’s efforts in the U.S. to fulfill its mission – to accompany, serve, and advocate for refugees and displaced people in over 50 countries around the world. Rosenhauer is a former JRS/USA Board Member and has spent most of her career advocating for social justice and mobilizing the U.S. Catholic community to do the same.
Prae Ontira Amatavivat
Accountability and Learning Specialist, Programs and Innovation, International Office
Bangkok, Thailand
Prae has been working with JRS since 2015 where she started as a regional program officer in the Asia Pacific. She has since moved into the international level of JRS where she serves JRS as a specialist in accountability, making sure our programs and procedures meet the international humanitarian standards, and that we are accountable to the people we serve.
Melissa Padilla
Programs and Projects Coordinator, JRS Latin America Regional Office
Bogota, Colombia
Melissa holds a degree in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in International Cooperation, Public Policies and Programs and Projects of Development. She has experience of more than ten years in projects management at local, national and regional levels; social research; design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian and development projects; and process coordination with all parties.
