The First 100 Days

19 January 2021 at 2:00pm

This month brings a new Congress and Administration and with it new opportunities to protect and defend forcibly displaced people. What impact will new policymakers have on refugees and those seeking protection from persecution, conflict, and violence?

Join JRS/USA for a live virtual panel discussion on potential changes in US refugee policy in the new year. Expert panelists will discuss access to asylum, refugee resettlement, and overseas humanitarian assistance and what the Biden Administration and new Congress can do in the first 100 days to improve the lives of those seeking protection. We’ll also answer your questions and discuss what you can do to amplify the voices of our displaced brothers and sisters.

Panelists include:

Giulia McPherson – Director of Advocacy & Operations, JRS/USA (Moderator)
Bill Hing – Professor, University of San Francisco, School of Law
Jenny Yang – Vice President for Advocacy & Policy, World Relief
Kate Phillips-Barrasso – Director of Humanitarian Policy, InterAction

The event will be held live on this page and on our Facebook page.
