JRS/USA Stands in Solidarity with the Black Community in the US

02 June 2020

Jesuit Refugee Service/USA stands in solidarity with the Black community in the United States. Our mission is to accompany, serve, and advocate for those most marginalized in our world. We mourn the fact that the black community in our own country has always faced systemic racism, oppression, and violence which are many times the same factors that push people to flee their homes and find refuge in other countries. We cannot be true to our mission if we don’t proactively work for justice and against all racism in our own setting.

Begging God’s mercy, we pledge to continue to fight injustice within our own work place and in our work with and for forcibly displaced people.
