ON THE MOVE
Co-Sponsored project by JRS/USA and JRS/Canada
JRS/USA and JRS Canada are pleased to announce a NEW guidebook to complement their simulation exercises, A Journey into Exile and Walk a Mile, by addressing the root causes of refugee movements and proposing new ways of thinking about refugees and our shared responsibility.
Get ON THE MOVE if you want to know first-hand:
- What leads a person to leave their home, family and friends
- What happens to them along the way, the different situations they face and all the complications of seeking refuge in a camp or claiming asylum in a new country
- What comes next as they integrate into their new communities]
This guidebook invites you to explore crucial questions about refugees with an open mind. As you learn about global refugee issues, reflect on your circumstances and critically examine the political and social systems affecting refugees. We invite you to join us in advocating for justice and embarking on a journey of personal transformation.
Each chapter provides insights into forced displacement, along with reflection questions. These questions can be used individually or in group discussions. We encourage you to share the guidebook and engage in collective reflections to deepen your understanding and find your role in supporting refugees.
