This JRS Day, How Will You Recognize the Journey?

14 November 2020

Forty years ago, Fr. Pedro Arrupe founded Jesuit Refugee Service as a response to the needs of people who have been forced to flee their homes. The global Ignatian Family – including YOU, our friend and supporter – has been invited to recognize this day as JRS Day.

We invite you to join us in marking this special day through the following actions:

1. PRAY IN SOLIDARITY – Use our 40th Anniversary Prayer and join us in praying for our displaced brothers and sisters.

2. SHARE THE STORY – Check out We Don’t Walk Alone – a storytelling exhibit from JRS/USA – or listen to this testimony from Dying to Live: Stories from Refugees on the Road to Freedom. Then, share the stories you’ve now come to know with friends, family, or on social media using #JRSDay.

3. SUPPORT THE MISSION – Our mission has been the same for the last 40 years – accompany, serve, and advocate for refugees and forcibly displaced people. Consider a gift to support that mission and help those who’ve been forced to flee their homes.

Any action today – big or small – will help us live out the legacy Fr. Pedro Arrupe left 40 years ago.

Take a moment to tell us how you plan to commemorate JRS Day on our JRS Day Page!
