World Refugee Day 2026

On World Refugee Day 2026, JRS/USA invited people of faith and goodwill to stand in solidarity with refugees and defend the right to seek safety. As the world marks the 75th anniversary of the 1951 Geneva Convention, we are reminded that protection was never meant for a select few. It is a promise rooted in human dignity — and it must be kept alive. In partnership with USCCB, JRS/USA hosted a webinar featuring a panel of religious leaders, immigration experts, and people with lived experiences, to discuss what it means to be safe.

Ignatian Migration Dialogue

A webinar series, moderated by JRS/USA leaders, and featuring guest experts, which will examine pressing migration challenges and offer a forum to build strategic partnerships. It will also educate the public on refugees, forced migrants, and immigrants during a time of misunderstanding and uncertainty.

Protect Hope

Refugees lose their safety and stability by being forced to flee. But conflict, disaster, and further aid cuts threaten their very survival. Your gift to JRS delivers lifesaving support, restores security, and sparks hope—helping families rebuild their lives. Act now to stand with those facing the hardest days of their lives.

2025 World Refugee Day

On World Refugee Day, we celebrate Jesuit Refugee Service’s 45th anniversary by helping make education possible for forcibly displaced students around the world.

Across refugee communities, young people face enormous barriers to continuing their studies. From the lack of safe classrooms and qualified teachers to unaffordable fees and long travel distances, the path to education is filled with obstacles.

ON THE MOVE

On the Move is a joint initiative of JRS/USA and JRS Canada that helps participants better understand the realities of forced displacement through immersive simulations, educational resources, and guided reflection. Featuring A Journey into Exile, Walk a Mile in My Shoes, and a companion guidebook, the program inspires empathy, learning, and meaningful action in accompaniment with refugees

Hope on the Margins: Together in Renewal and Dignity

In places torn by conflict, collapse, and climate disasters, Jesuit Refugee Service walks with those left behind, even as global support fades. You can help us continue this vital work as the need continues to grow.

We Are All the Body of Christ

The Body of Christ is made up of many members, each with unique gifts and a shared purpose. Refugees are not separate from this body; they are integral to it—resilient, gifted, and essential.

Event: Catholic Social Teaching and Work with Migrants and Refugees at a Time of Uncertainty

This event focused Catholic social teaching on migrants and refugees, offering both global and US-focused perspectives during this time of transition and uncertainty. Co-hosted by JRS/USA & Center for Migration Studies – NY (CMSNY). Watch conference videos here.

JRS Lenten Series: A Time for Encounter with Refugees

This season of Lent, Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) invites you to reflect on our attitudes toward refugees and other forcibly displaced persons. Do we see them as threats, or as brothers and sisters in need? Do we turn away, or do we open our hearts to their suffering?

Hopeful Planet

Those displaced by climate events often lack protections due to the absence of global infrastructure granting them asylum or refugee status. Yet, communities worldwide are rising to this challenge, fostering change and resilience to create a Hopeful Planet.

#EmpowerHer

Displaced women and girls face unique risks compared to their male counterparts. JRS addresses these challenges through a comprehensive strategy that includes mental health support, livelihoods programs, gender-responsive education, and peace initiatives.
