New Paths: Building Stories.

The people we accompany in Colombia and Peru have many stories to tell about their realities, struggles and dreams. These life stories narrate – a little – their path and the experiences of themselves and other refugees, migrants, and forcibly displaced people, who leave their places of origin in search of opportunities and new paths where they can live and feel in dignity and with justice.

Colombia – Cúcuta, Norte de Santander

Entrepreneurship: The Timothy Show

Yubisay and his family live in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander) and there they formed their puppet company, where they manufacture them, but they also do fun shows for all audiences; girls, boys, adolescents and adults and seniors.

Entrepreneurship: Oriente Fast Food

In Lima, there is a venture led by Daniela, a Venezuelan migrant who dedicates her time and passion to gastronomy and its exploration with her company ‘Oriente Fast Food’.

Entrepreneurship: The Great Harvest

A well-known bakery in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander) that opens avenues of job opportunities for refugees and migrants, and thus motivates decent and fair work for all people.

In Tacna there is a brave woman who is dedicated to baking and sweetening other people’s lives with her desserts. She and her disabled daughter left Venezuela in search of a better place to live in peace and found it in Peru.

Entrepreneurship: CEINAUTOS

In Barrancabermeja (Santander), JRS support helped refugees and migrants like Darianis and River learn about automotive mechanics, and thus be able to work, study and start their businesses.

Entrepreneurship: Estefany Brows

Estefany is a young Venezuelan who lives in Lima and has a business called ‘Estefany Brows’ and her life motto is ‘love and passion move dreams’.

Entrepreneurship: Punto Burger

Many refugees, migrants, and other forcibly displaced people face difficulties in accessing employment in decent conditions. When Jose arrived in Arequipa he did not have a job, but with his leadership and that of his family they have a fast food restaurant ‘Punto Burger’.

In Tacna, Reiny is dedicated to working on gel nails, which is his art and motivation in life, where every day he learns and grows as a professional in this art.

Entrepreneurship: Delicias Canela

‘Delicias Canela’ is the venture of Syudi, who has lived in Arequipa for 6 years. She left the country in search of better living conditions for herself and her family, and today she is an entrepreneur who encourages other people.
