Protect Access to U.S. Asylum
The right to seek asylum is a fundamental part of U.S. law and provides lifesaving protection to those fleeing persecution and conflict. Despite the U.S.’s commitment to being a place of refuge for those seeking safety, recent U.S. policies have restricted access to asylum. These restrictions include the Circumvention of Lawful Pathways rule which requires asylum-seekers arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border to enter the U.S. using the CBP One mobile application in order to be eligible for asylum.
Please join JRS/USA in urging policymakers to reduce the harm caused by these restrictions and instead work towards strengthening the U.S. asylum system.
